Throughout its journey, it has been called with several names. With its travel through Tibet, it is called as Yarlung Tsangpo River. On the advent of flowing through Assam, it is called as Brahmaputra. Within Bangladesh, it is called as Jamuna.
The Basin of Brahmaputra River is approximately 651,300 square kilometers. It has the world’s highest suspended sediment load of about 1.84 billion tons per year.
