Zubeen Garg’s Timeless Connection With Brahmaputra Jungle Resort
A Tribute to the Legend Amidst Nature
Brahmaputra Jungle Resort has always been a haven for artists, nature lovers, and seekers of tranquility. Among the many cherished memories held within its green embrace, one remains especially close to our hearts, the visit of Assam’s legendary singer Zubeen Garg back in 2009.
That year, the resort played host to a vibrant artists’ camp, bringing together some of the most creative minds of Assam. Among those talents was Zubeen Garg – the singer, lyricist, poet, musician, and conservationist who shaped the cultural spirit of the region. His stay with us remains one of the most treasured chapters in the resort’s history.

A Creative Retreat in Nature
During the camp, Zubeen da spent a couple of peaceful days staying in our Swiss Tents, surrounded by untouched greenery, chirping birds, and the company of fellow artists. Away from the spotlight, he immersed himself in quiet reflection, music, and art – the elements that defined his very essence.
But Zubeen Garg was never only a musician. He carried the soul of a poet and the heart of a conservationist. And it was here, amidst the soothing landscape of Brahmaputra Jungle Resort, that he created something truly special.
The ‘Sunaru Tree’ – A Poem Born From Nature
One serene afternoon during his stay, Zubeen da penned down a heartfelt poem on a ‘Sunaru tree’, inspired by the environment and his deep-rooted concern for conservation. The poem, written in his beautiful, unmistakable handwriting, speaks of nature, harmony, and the responsibility we share toward the environment.
This poem was then turned into a painting, and even today, it proudly adorns the wall of our reception area. Guests visiting the resort pause in admiration, often clicking photographs with the artwork — a touching reminder of the gentle genius that Zubeen Garg was.

A Place of Reflection for His Admirers
With Zubeen Xetro, the cremation site of Zubeen Garg, located just five minutes away from Brahmaputra Jungle Resort, admirers who come to pay their respects to the beloved icon often seek a space to reflect and connect with his memory.
Our resort offers exactly that –
tranquility, nature, silence, and the lingering presence of his creativity through the preserved poem.
Visitors can walk the same paths he walked, breathe in the same greenery that inspired him, and witness the original handwritten poem that remains a symbol of his love for the environment.

A Living Memory of a Legend
At Brahmaputra Jungle Resort, Zubeen da’s presence continues to be felt, not through grand monuments, but through the small, meaningful imprints he left behind: his poem, his art, his love for nature. These memories make our resort not just a getaway, but a living tribute to one of Assam’s greatest cultural icons.
We welcome admirers, fans, and nature lovers to visit the resort, breathe in the same inspiration he once did, and carry forward the spirit of Zubeen Garg! The legend who lived, loved, and created from the heart.
